InSearch is a family psycho-holistic counseling and education consulting practice with over twenty years of service to a diverse community.
Founded by psychotherapist, spiritual adviser, and education Cconsultant, Akani Fletcher, InSearch has provided high-quality service to individuals, families and organizations for more than twenty years. His listening, speaking,, and responsive action enables a trusting, collaborative relationship to develop that helps to sustain through the challenges of life. Akani’s ceremonial work has been recognized in written and documentary film. A specialist in the creation of meaningful ceremony, he brings a refreshing new quality to celebrations and remembrances across a wide spectrum.
Experience
As the former owner and Headmaster of a high-performing private school, Akani consults to a variety of education institutions on staff development, responsible disciplinary strategies, and curriculum. His team includes National Board Certified teachers, health-care professionals, and performance artists.
Akani has been in the development of a Rite-of-Passage program; Project B.E.G.I.N., an innovative approach to addressing the growing need for receiving young people recently released from incarceration, or at high risk for entering the system. The program is intended to offer new hope and possibilities; inspiring and energizing them for the journey toward renewal.
He is among the first local trainers in the so-called Council process; a powerful communication tool that emphasizes deep listening, speaking from the heart, and witnessing. It is increasingly used in a variety of settings: Schools, Families, and Business. His local experience ranges from early development of programs at the historic Center for the Healing Arts, public and private schools, and the Ojai Foundation; with colleagues and early trainers in the work.
